PUBLIC NOTICE LEHIGH HANSON MATERIALS LIMITED ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT ACT NOTICE OF APPLICATION Lehigh Cement, A Division of Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited (Lehigh) has applied to Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development for an amendment approval under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act for the Edmonton Cement Manufacturing Plant (Lehigh Plant). The Lehigh Plant is located in northwest Edmonton and in the Legal Land Description of Northeast Quarter and West Half of Section 15, Township 53, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian. The Lehigh Plant site covers approximately 26 hectares of land and has a capacity of approximately 1 million tonnes of cement production annually. Lehigh proposed to add a vertical cement grinding mill which will increase the efficiency of cement production and enable Lehigh to meet seasonal market demands and cement specifications. Pursuant to section 73 of the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, any person who is directly affected by this operation may submit a written statement of concern regarding this application. Failure to file astatement of concern may affect the right to file a Notice of Appeal with the Environmental Appeals Board.
